Last updated: April 1, 2026. How we handle your data, explained in actual human language. Short version: we collect as little as possible and we never, ever sell it.
Who We Are
Outline Technologies ("we," "us," "our") is a digital visibility agency founded by Ahmed and Abd Shanti. Our website is outline.ad. We provide SEO, AEO, GEO, web development, and related digital marketing services.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, use our tools, or work with us as a client, and what we do (and do not do) with that information. It applies to all visitors, users, and clients of Outline Technologies.
We are two brothers who run a digital agency. This page explains what data we collect and what we do with it. We tried to keep the lawyer speak to a minimum.
Information We Collect
We collect different types of information depending on how you interact with us. Here is a breakdown of each category:
2.1 Contact Form Submissions
When you fill out our contact form, we collect your name, email address, company name (if provided), website URL (if provided), and the content of your message. We use this information exclusively to respond to your inquiry and evaluate whether we can help with your project. We do not add you to any marketing lists unless you explicitly opt in.
You fill out a form, we read your message and reply. That is literally it. We do not secretly subscribe you to anything.
2.2 Analytics Data
We use privacy focused analytics to understand how people use our website. This includes aggregate data such as page views, referring sources, general geographic location (country or region level, not street address), device type, and browser type. Our analytics are configured to minimize personal data collection. We do not track individual users across sessions or across websites.
We can see that someone from Germany visited our pricing page on a phone. We cannot see that it was specifically you, Hans, browsing from your couch at 11pm. We genuinely do not want that level of detail.
2.3 Server Logs
Like every website on the internet, our server automatically records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, the pages you requested, your browser type, your operating system, and the date and time of access. This data is used exclusively for security monitoring, performance optimization, and debugging technical issues. Server logs are retained for a maximum of 90 days and then automatically deleted.
Our server keeps basic notes about visits the way every website has done since approximately 1995. We use them to make sure nothing is broken and nobody is trying to hack us. They get deleted after 90 days.
2.4 Client Project Data
When you engage us for professional services, we may receive access to your website analytics, search console data, content management systems, and other business tools necessary to perform the work. This data is accessed only by team members directly involved in your project. Client data is never shared with other clients, used for marketing purposes, or retained after the engagement ends (unless you request otherwise).
When you hire us, we need access to your analytics and tools to do the work. We look at your data to help you, not to gossip about your traffic numbers over dinner. When the project is done, we delete our access.
2.5 Email Communications
If you email us directly, we retain those communications to provide you with ongoing support and to maintain a record of our professional interactions. We do not scan email content for advertising purposes and we do not share email communications with third parties.
We keep our email conversations the way normal humans keep email conversations. To, you know, remember what we discussed.
What We Absolutely Do Not Do
This section exists because we think it is just as important to tell you what we will never do as it is to tell you what we do. Here are our hard lines:
- We do not sell your personal data. Not to data brokers, not to advertisers, not to anyone. Ever.
- We do not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
- We do not use tracking pixels from advertising platforms like Google Ads, Facebook, or any ad network.
- We do not build behavioral profiles about you for targeted advertising.
- We do not use dark patterns to trick you into sharing more data than you intended.
- We do not store sensitive personal information (credit card numbers, social security numbers, health data) on our servers.
- We do not use your client data to train AI models, generate case studies, or create any public facing content without your explicit written consent.
We are not in the data selling business. We are in the "make your brand visible" business. Your data is yours. We never touch it for anything other than helping you. Full stop.
Cookies and Tracking
4.1 Essential Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies that are required for basic website functionality. These include session cookies that maintain your browsing state and preference cookies that remember your settings (such as whether you dismissed a notification). These cookies are strictly necessary and do not require consent under most privacy regulations.
4.2 Analytics Cookies
If we use analytics cookies, they are configured to respect your privacy. They do not track you across websites, do not create advertising profiles, and are set to expire within a reasonable timeframe. You can disable analytics cookies in your browser settings without affecting your ability to use our website.
4.3 Third Party Cookies
We do not use third party advertising cookies. We do not participate in ad networks, retargeting programs, or cross site tracking. If any third party tool we use (such as an embedded form or chat widget) sets cookies, we ensure they are necessary for that tool's functionality and comply with applicable privacy standards.
Our cookie situation is boring by design. A couple of small files that make the website work. No ad tracking, no retargeting, no creepy "ads follow you around the internet" stuff. You will not see our ads stalking you after visiting this page.
How We Protect Your Data
Security is not an afterthought for us. It is literally one of the services we provide to clients (Core Web Vitals optimization, technical SEO, secure web development). We apply the same standards to our own infrastructure:
- HTTPS everywhere: All connections to outline.ad are encrypted using TLS. There is no unencrypted version of our site.
- Security headers: We implement HSTS, X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options, Referrer-Policy, and Content Security Policy headers.
- Access control: Client data is accessible only to team members directly assigned to that client's project. We use role based access controls and two factor authentication on all systems.
- Regular updates: All server software, dependencies, and security patches are applied within 48 hours of release.
- Encrypted storage: Any sensitive data is stored in encrypted environments with restricted access.
- No unnecessary retention: We do not keep data longer than necessary. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted, not archived indefinitely.
We lock our doors properly because we build locks for a living. It would be pretty embarrassing if we did not.
Your Rights
Regardless of where you are located, we respect the following rights for all users:
- Right to access: You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you. We will provide it within 30 days in a commonly used electronic format.
- Right to correction: If any data we hold about you is inaccurate, you can request we correct it.
- Right to deletion: You can request that we delete all personal data we hold about you. We will do so within 30 days, unless we are legally required to retain certain information.
- Right to restrict processing: You can ask us to limit how we use your data while we address a concern you have raised.
- Right to data portability: You can request your data in a structured, machine readable format to transfer to another service.
- Right to withdraw consent: If you previously gave consent for a specific use of your data, you can withdraw that consent at any time.

It is your data. You can see it, fix it, move it, or delete it. Just email us and say what you want. We will not make it difficult because making it difficult would be a jerk move.
International Data Transfers
Outline Technologies operates worldwide. If you access our website, your data may be transferred to and processed in countries where our infrastructure providers operate. We ensure that any such transfers comply with applicable data protection regulations and that adequate safeguards are in place.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we rely on the European Commission's adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses where applicable to ensure your data receives an equivalent level of protection wherever it is processed.
Our servers might not be in the same country as you. The data still gets treated the same way regardless of where the electrons travel.
Children's Privacy
Our website and services are not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 16, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.
Our services are for businesses and adults. If you are under 16, we appreciate your entrepreneurial spirit but please come back in a few years.
Third Party Services
Our website may use third party services for specific functionality, such as form processing, analytics, or live chat. Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We select third party services that meet reasonable privacy standards and we review their privacy practices before integration. However, we are not responsible for the privacy practices of third party services beyond the data we explicitly share with them.
We will never integrate a third party service that requires selling or sharing your personal data as a condition of use.
We use some tools to run our website (like everyone else). We pick tools from companies that are not creepy about data. But their privacy policies are their own, so we cannot be held accountable if they change their minds about being creepy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make changes, we update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes that materially affect how we handle your data, we will provide a prominent notice on our website.
We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of our website after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
If we change something important, we will make it obvious. We are not going to secretly rewrite this at 2am and hope nobody notices.
